Learn the 4 Times Table by Doubling Twice

If you already know how to double numbers, you can use that skill to solve almost any question in the 4 times table.

First double the number once. Then double that result again.

3 → 6 → 12
4 × 3 = 12
5 → 10 → 20
4 × 5 = 20
8 → 16 → 32
4 × 8 = 32

Example:
Double 7 → 14
Double 14 → 28
Therefore, 4 × 7 = 28.

This method connects the 4 times table directly to the 2 times table, so you do not need to treat every multiplication fact as something completely new.
